Aaah ... the perfect summer project! And an easy-going companion for summer vacations.
The Summery Striped Shawl one-day class covers all you need to sail through this shawl's super fun stripes and ruffles. Short rows do the work, and are not difficult. Definitely a very useful skill to add to your knitting.
The pattern is included with the class.
Materials to bring to class:
Yarn - Any DK- to sport-weight yarn in 2 contrasting colors yarns. You will need approximately 220 yards/ 100g of each color, 440 yards/200g total.) Recommended yarns include Schoppel El Linio, Classic Elite Firefly, Anzula Vera, Shibui Reed, Shibui Rain, or Hedgehog Fibres DK. Our sample is knitted in El Linio, by Schoppel, which is 100% linen.
Gauge - Close to 5 stitches per inch.
Needles - Straight needles or 24”(or longer) circular needles in the size needed to achieve gauge. (Our linen sample was knitted on a US 5; wool yarn would likely be better on a US 7.)
