CASTING ON  $40

Choosing the right cast-on can make a big difference to your knitting. Learn some new cast-ons, as well as when to use and which one!

Required skills: you must know how to knit and purl, and know at least one basic cast-on and bind-off. 

Class Includes the following: Basic Long Tail and German Twisted Long-tail, Knitted, Figure 8 ( incl.Judy's Magic), Provisional, Tubular

Material: Smooth worsted or DK weight yarn; preferably light-colored; needles appropriate to the yarn; one crochet hook in a size appropriate to the yarn.

Homework: none

BINDING OFF $40

Are your bind-offs too tight? Too loose? Learn some new ways to bind off and when to use them!

Required skills: you must know how to knit and purl, and know at least one basic cast-on and bind-off. 

Class includes the following: Standard, Suspended, Jeny's Surprisingly Stretchy, Picot, Three-needle, and I-cord

Material: Smooth worsted or DK weight yarn; preferably light-colored; needles appropriate to the yarn; one extra needle

Homework: knitted fabric about 20 stitches long and 2 to 3 inches wide, still on the needles, to practice binding off

KNITTING IN THE ROUND $65

In a series of two classes, we explore different method of knitting in the round. If you've never knit in the round, this class will not only show you how, but will show you all the different ways you can do it! If you already know one way to knit in the round, we will show you more!

Please note: You can sign up for one or both sessions.

Material: Smooth worsted or DK weight yarn; preferably light-colored; two circular needles of the same size but different lengths (for example, one 24" and one 40"long); one 40" long circular (can be the same as the other 40" long needle), and one 12" or 16" circular needle,  one set of four or five double-pointed needles, and Flexi-Flips needles (if you are taking that session). All needles should be an appropriate size for the yarn

Homework: none

First session include: Two Circular needles, magic loop, and one short circular needle

Second session includes: Double Pointed Needles and the new Flexi-Flips

SWATCHING $40

Learn to love the Swatch! Okay maybe not. But learn how to make a proper swatch and when you really, really need one! We will show you how to measure and adjust your gauge, figure out why and when you may want to change the yarn for a project, and to never, ever, ever trust a red.

Required Skills: You must know how to knit, purl, cast-on, and bind-off

Class includes swatching for gauge and how to measure your gauge, swatching a pattern, and swatching colors

Materials: Smooth worsted weight or DK weight yarn; preferably light-colored; needles appropriate to the yarn

Homework: none
