Japanese Knitting Workshop

Class Date and Time

Japanese knitting instructions are very different from the American or European counterparts. Japanese patterns are based on schematic illustration and use very few words. They also assume knowledge of knitting fundamentals.

Chiaki grew up in Japan and learned to knit from Japanese patterns. She will go over what you need to understand this very logical, compact presentation of a pattern. You will learn to "read" a Japanese pattern as you knit slippers.

This workshop is for intermediate to advanced knitters. You should have experience knitting from a (American/European) chart. Taught by Chiaki Hayashi.

Please note that there is preparatory homework required for this class. Homework details will be distributed as students sign up.
