Knitting Brioche with two colors creates a beautiful fabric but can be a little tricky. If you are a confident intermediate knitter, that wants to give this technique a try, then we have a perfect class and project for you. You don’t need to have an experience of knitting brioche stitch.The class will cover step by step very basic Brioche stitches.
Chiaki designed this special cowl for a one day class on two colored brioche knitting. Once you understand the concept and skills involved, you will be ready to make other beautiful hats, shawl, etc….. WARNING: Brioche knitting is very addicting.

- Yarn: Any worsted weight yarn in two contrasting colors. Samples used Madelinetosh Tosh Vintage, and Malabrigo Rios
- Needles: US#5 16”long circular needles (When knitting brioche stitch, we typically use needles one or two sizes smaller needles than we might for our chosen yarn. If you are tight knitter, you can use US#6.)
- Notions: 1 marker for beginning of round, an additional 9 locking markers.
With MC, CO135.
PM, join into the round being careful not to twist sts.
(P2, K1) repeat around. Work total 3rounds.
