Color Crazy

Is there a more exciting phrase for Avenuevians than New Yarn?  Well, time to head on over to Avenue Yarns for the luscious new yarns and restocks.  Here’s a quick glimpse of what you can find, both in the shop and the online store.

Yarn Hero Color Mix DK

Avenue started carrying Yarn Hero as an alternative to the finicky and expensive Spin Cycle yarns. New colors of Yarn Hero Color Mix DK are in the shop now, and so gorgeous.

Do you like color?  I like color.  The combinations and smooth transitions in stranded or plain knitting with Yarn Hero just can’t be beat.  Colors will shift, marl, barber pole and shift back again. No pooling guaranteed!

Start with Coloring Book for a sophisticated take on primary colors, primarily (so to speak) red, blue and yellow.  Gemstone is glowing with cool blues and purples, brightened with flashes of gold.  And Yarn Hero carries subtle combos, like Linen Closet, with subtle ivorys, pinks, lavenders and greys, and Pine Needles with browns and greens like a walk in a forest.

DK weight, 100% SW Merino, 240 yds per 100g $30.00

Life in the Long Grass, Fine Sock

We’ve been waiting for this gorgeous fingering weight yarn from Scotland for what seems forever.  Well, it arrived last week in 31 gorgeous colorways.  There are bright colors like the yellow Chrysalis and perfectly named Wild Rose Bay; earth tones like Hillside and Plum; and fabulous speckled colors like the many-green Lichen and bright Cantaloupe.

LITLG is a fingering weight perfect for shawls and socks, and a great choice for breezy summer garments.  Ray and Leti already have their favorites, in stranded combos and gorgeous fades.  Ask to see them.

LITLG, Fine Sock is a light fingering weight SW merino + a wee bit of nylon, 465 yds per 100g.  $31.00 per skein.
