This is a 2 session class: Sundays, December 10th & 17th, 12:30-2:30pm

Prerequisites: This is an intermediate class, you should already know how to cast on, knit, and purl

Knitted Hats: Hats are fast and fun to knit, and there are endless possibilities. You’ll learn to work in the round on both circular and double-pointed needles, read a pattern, measure gauge decrease, and measure gauge. First-time hat makers can make a simple ribbed or stocking stitch hat using Kira’s easy formulas, or more experienced knitters can choose any of Kira’s hat patterns, bringing in possibilities for lace, cables, brioche, and more. Two two-hour sessions.

Materials for simple ribbed or roll-brim stockinette hat: 100 grams of worsted or aran weight yarn, 16" circular and double-pointed needles in a size appropriate for that yarn, stitch markers, yarn needle. Optional: for a stocking stitch hat that does not have a rolled brim, you'll also need 16" circular needles two sizes smaller than your main needle size.
If you have made hats before and want to make a more complex design, browse the options at
www.kirakdesigns.com and choose any of Kira's knitted hat patterns and bring all the supplies specified. Bring a variety of needle sizes for swatching. Patterns will be available to purchase at the first class.
